To mulch or not to mulch?
Mulching—quite frankly—is one of those landscaping items that is not mandatory; however, when it is installed to a landscape the payoff is noticeable.
Proper mulching can help preserve your business’ property by protecting and enhancing the soil. In addition, it enhances curb appeal, as mulching gives a finished and refined look to a landscape.
Additional benefits are listed below:
- Protects the soil from erosion by preventing water loss during summers
- Helps maintain soil temperature year round
- Reduces amount of watering needed
- Improves fertility and overall health of the soil
- Helps minimize weed growth
- Assists in preventing damage caused by heavy rains; allows you to walkthrough an area when damp without making a mess; helps keep plants and signs clean
- Organic mulches decay over time and are recycled naturally. There’s no need to remove it, simply apply another layer.
- Provides property with a finished look, increasing aesthetics and ultimately, curb appeal
The type of mulch to utilize depends on the individual business’ landscape needs, weather, organic/inorganic preference, depth, etc.—we recommend having a professional visit the property to identify needs.
