Brown is the new Green

After years of maintaining large, and multi-site accounts, we’ve run into some reoccurring request from property and site managers. Along with those common request, we’ve definitely learned some lessons.

Maintaining large landscapes or just making sure that a storefront has good curb appeal can be an added stress for managers and business owners….especially if something is not going well.

See our tips below to help prevent common issues from arising

  • Be clear about property boundaries. This can cause confusion and lead to issues if the property lines are not clearly defined.
  • Ensure that the scope of work provided by a prospective landscaping service provider matches the needs of the property.
  • It’s no secret grass needs water to stay green. And if it’s hot outside it’s going to need more. If you don’t want the run up your site’s water bill and want to conserve water then consider letting the lawn go dormant. Don’t worry! The lawn will turn green as the rain returns. Brown is the new green during hot summer weather.
  • Stay in touch! They say communication is the key to any good relationship. Why should it be any different with your landscaping service? There should be a mutual understanding.
  • Don’t disregard the irrigation system. Remember to get it winterized, change broken heads, repair broken lines, and test the zones during the activation. Neglecting the irrigation system can lead to costly repairs.
  • Does the site look good, but want to add that extra touch? Is it missing something? Consider installing bark or flowers to give the site a polished look.
